Lomi* wandered through the wilderness for two months after rebel forces attacked and destroyed her village. She had no idea if her family was alive or not. All she could focus on was finding whatever she could to eat.
At long last, she encountered a family who took her in. They provided her with the love she desperately needed after losing everything. But they too had next to nothing to eat. Together, they spent every day gathering whatever food they could find, lucky if they could eat once a day. When Lomi heard that you donated food supplies, she knew she needed to make the hour-long trek to the church see if it was true.

Not only did you provide desperately needed food, but you gave her hope. She was amazed and perplexed about where the food came from—such a gift was so rare to come across. Speaking with a pastor, Lomi learned about how you selflessly provided for her.
The pastor prayed over her and her family. Lomi was so deeply moved she asked him to repeat the prayer. He told her, “Remember that anytime you’re in trouble to call on the name of Jesus”. Clutching your gift she said, “That name gives me peace and comfort. I will never forget that name and all of you”.
