Fikremariam* and his wife worked hard on their family farm to provide for their three children. When courageous Christians shared the Gospel with him a few years ago, his outlook on life and business had changed entirely. Now, he wasn’t just looking out for his own family’s well-being but longed to bless his community with hope. He hoped for ways to increase his income in order to reach and bless others.
When he discovered Micro-Business training through his local church, Fikremariam was inspired. As he explained, “Some months, we struggle to make ends meet. Through Micro-Business training, I decided to create a business on our property selling items we grow and reselling items from other markets in the community. This shop will help meet the needs of our local community. We’re planning to run the shop with our family members.”
Because Fikremariam lives in a remote area, there are no other shops nearby but a high demand from his neighbourhood. As travelling is often a challenge or costly, a store within the area is greatly needed. “The proceeds from our business will help our farm and family. I also hope to support my community, especially the poor, and increase my giving to the church. I thank God for His great blessings in my life, especially my wife and children. I praise Jesus for what He has done for me.”
