From War's Ruins, Pastor Na Brings God's Hope

Pastor Meling Na* and the other leaders of his church lost their homes due to the war. They were wandering the streets for 3 months. They never waivered, as they continued the good work of the Lord despite the challenges.

We thank God because even in our lowest moment, He never abandoned us,” said Pastor Na, his voice trembling.

Some brothers and sisters in Christ stepped up to take in Na, the church leaders, and refugees alike. The Lord has been at work since he planted Pastor Na and the church leaders in their new homes. What the pastors found were many people who were lost and confused. They were empty, not realizing that they were longing for the love of Jesus Christ. When Pastor Na and the others preached, they could see the way the people’s hearts cried out at hearing the Word.

“Whenever we shared Jesus’ salvation and hope, many people opened their hearts because they saw the eternal peace beyond the suffering,” said Pastor Na.

Due to their refugee status, their resources were extremely limited. However, thanks to the donor they were partnered with they were able to help the people with some of their practical issues. In any way they could give, they did without a moment’s hesitation.

In the last 3 months, Pastor Na and the church leaders saw 220 people come to faith. Many were touched by the Word in one particular sermon that Pastor Na delivered. There were 159 people in attendance, and many of them accepted salvation on the spot. Both the pastors and the people were once drowning in the burden of war. Now, the Lord has revealed His love powerfully.

“Although the war is cruel, God’s love is stronger than anything else,” Pastor Na said with a determined smile. “No matter how difficult the road ahead is, we continue to serve so that more people can know Jesus and unshakable peace and joy in Him.”
