Belkis* dreamed of the ways she could make her business truly thrive. Her family ran a small cafe business from their home. While they were grateful for the income they could generate, their economic needs still lingered. “My husband and I work hard to provide for our household of 7. We struggle to make ends meet and our children, at times, do not have everything they need to be successful in school,” she explained.
When she learned that her local church was offering Micro-Business training, Belkis jumped at the chance. She had big dreams but needed a roadmap to know how to reach them. She felt limited and unsure how to properly expand her business or invest her income.
Belkis wasn’t just concerned about her own family’s needs. Each day she witnessed orphans in her community struggling without caregivers. Belkis longed to help but lacked the resources. “I have a heart for local orphans in my community and want to do what I can to help them in their times of need,” she said. “With the additional profits generated by my business, I intend to help these orphans and increase my tithes to my local church.”
Because of the help of a generous partner like you and support from her local church, Belkis’ dream became a reality. She expanded her cafe and built two salons – one for women and one for men. Her son and daughter run these businesses, increasing their ability to generate profits that benefit the whole family.
The community was eager to support these new, much-needed businesses. Belkis was thrilled to see how Micro-Business was changing her life and the lives of others. Now, my family can actively participate in the business.
