In pastor Yan Jing’s* community, there was a man who was addicted to drugs. He was deeply trapped in the bondage of drugs. Because of his long lasting drug addiction, his mental and physical states were deteriorating rapidly. His family and friends had lost all hope.
That was when he heard Pastor Jing preaching the Gospel. The word of God clicked in his heart. He felt like he could get out of the hole he had dug himself into for so many years.
“In extreme despair, I heard the gospel and was willing to try to seek God’s help,” said the man, recalling the moment that the Lord touched his heart.
Meanwhile, Pastor Jing called the brothers and sisters in the church to pray for him continuously. They asked the Lord to clean his body and mind. Leaders of the church accompanied him to receive the necessary medical treatment he needed to recover. In a miraculous demonstration of His eternal love and grace, the man’s mental state gradually recovered.
“My drug addiction was completely removed by the power of God,” the man said in utter joy. “I began to know myself again and accepted Jesus as the Savior of my life with faith.”
Since then, he has completely recovered and lives a healthy life. He now shares his testimony to encourage those who are still in darkness.
“God can change any desperate life, and He is the source of salvation,” the man proclaimed with bold inspiration. “The Bible tells us: ‘If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and all things have become new.'”
