Faith Amidst Chaos: Community Finds Hope and Renewal

My home was once a place of natural beauty, but now it is torn by war. My community has been impacted by turmoil, but the Lord has continued calling people to faith. Christ has blessed us in the good moments just as much as He is carrying us through the bad. There has been just as much laughter as tears.

Despite all the uncertainty we face, God has made my ministry fruitful. Many have been brought to the foot of the cross. Our community has been inspired by the Holy Spirit to make deeper commitments to the faith. I had the honour to baptize 31 passionate believers in the name of Jesus.

One particular individual was saved by the Lord through the prayer and intervention of our church. There was a woman who was battling a deep depression due to problems in her marriage. We were very worried about her and often visited her in attempts to encourage her out of her somber state. I would pray over her, along with the others who joined me in visiting the woman. Eventually, we convinced her to read the Bible. I didn’t realize the impact we had on this woman’s life until several months later, when she approached us after service.

“If it weren’t for you, I might never have come to the Lord,” the woman told us. “You showed me the love of Jesus Christ.”

For this our ministry, this woman’s story was a reminder that service means answering the Lord’s call and acting in faith. Our life is like a burning candle, although small, it illuminates the hearts of many people around us. This woman’s testimony reminds us that true service does not lie in external glory, but in responding to the Lord’s call willingly and showing the love of Christ with actions.
