A woman believed to be under dark spiritual forces was both feared and revered. The woman had eight children and was wealthy with countless cattle. Locals even built three mosques in her honour, seeking her advice. Despite her riches, she lived in deep loneliness, her children scattered by these forces, leaving her alone with her husband.
Tragedy struck one day as eight of her bulls and four donkeys mysteriously died, deepening her isolation. At that same time, Pastor Mengistu* walked through the village, praying for the people. He encountered the woman, but she hurried away. God revealed to Pastor Mengistu that she was under an evil spirit’s grip. Burdened by this, he returned home and spent three days fasting and praying for guidance.
With renewed faith, Pastor Mengistu returned to the village. He shook her hand, and God’s power surged through him, causing the woman to collapse, trembling. As he prayed, the dark forces were driven out. Then, in a moment of divine transformation, she tearfully accepted Jesus as her Savior, the ultimate victory in this spiritual battle.
When she told her husband, he reacted with anger and left her. Yet, Pastor Mengistu continued to support her, and within a month, her children returned home, drawn by their mother’s transformation. They, too, accepted Jesus.
Two months later, her husband also returned, moved by the love and forgiveness he witnessed, and embraced the faith. The family was restored, and a spiritual revival swept through the village—53 people came to Christ, and a new church was born.
Today, the woman and her children serve faithfully within the church, which continues to grow. This is a testament to the power of prayer, faith, and the support of partners
