“I wish to share what happened with my mother. She has been with us for a while because she will have a goiter operation. She is in a lot of pain, but is nervous about the surgery. When the ladies of the congregation met my mother and heard her story, they decided to step into action. They decided to arrange a special visit to my house to bring encouragement to my mother.
One morning, they surprised her, bringing her some things that would be necessary in her recovery. My mother was thrilled to see the ladies and was moved that they had gone out of their way to provide her with things she would need. She told me afterwards that having these things ahead of time put her mind at ease.
The ladies also shared the Word of God and prayers in favor of her operation. As they prayed, we saw the power of the Holy Spirit revitalizing everyone’s spirits, especially my mother’s.
It is striking to see how the love of Christ compels us to do good, to laugh with those who laugh, and to cry with those who cry. May the Lord grant that the distinctive mark of this church, and every church, be the love that He has poured into our hearts. After what the ladies’ ministry did, my mother was very encouraged by the gesture of Christian love. She is now ready to brave her operation, knowing that Christ is by her side.”
