Solana* felt the familiar ache of hunger once again as she laid down to rest at the end of the day. At such a young age her life was filled with challenges and tragedy after losing her mother to cancer. She was in the care of her elderly grandmother who struggled to provide for Solana and her sister. Many elderly people struggle to feed themselves on a small pension in the face of inflation and food scarcity – a hurdle only made more challenging when caring for two young children on such a meager monthly income.
You offered Solana and her family a lifeline by partnering with their local church’s Children’s Ministry program. Empowered by you, Analena* spearheaded an outreach to families like Solana. Each week hundreds of children and their families receive a warm and nutritious meal – for many this is the only time they get to eat properly.
Your connection to the church is making an immeasurable impact on these children! As Analena explained, “We’ve reached many children through these weekly food offerings. The ministry is a visible testimony of what we can do as God’s people. Offering families food and bringing them the Word of God has reached many in the community. Most of these children in need are from dysfunctional families. Many parents are struggling with addiction. These children have a great desire to be loved in the way only Jesus can.”
