“I want to be as gentle as Jesus, and I want Him to live in my heart,” Lao* whispered. Over the past three days, the way he viewed the world rapidly changed. Lao was invited to a children’s event by a local church leader named Pastor Zaiya* where he learned about Jesus, someone he had never heard about before.
Before coming to the children’s event, Lao often worried about how his choices and actions would affect his life after death. He tried his best to follow the rules and be a good person but continued to find himself falling short.
Lao was amazed when Pastor Zaiya shared that Jesus died for their sins so all could have eternal life. Many of the other children around him even shed tears as they discovered the invitation Jesus extended to each of them – a life spent with Him and a peaceful eternity.
Lao and 56 other children accepted Jesus, excited to experience a relationship with Him! Pastor Zaiya invited them all to attend Sunday school and grow in their faith. Many of their parents and siblings are discovering Jesus now, too. Hosting events for youth impacts not just children, but their families and communities as they share the Good News they’ve heard.
