Children Transform Soup Kitchen into a Beacon of Hope

A humble soup kitchen buzzed with activity at the local church each Saturday. What may look like an ordinary soup kitchen from the outside is actually a ministry led by the children of the church, empowered by you to serve their community in Jesus’ name!

The number of people needing food continued to grow in the face of economic crisis, daily power outages, and other disasters. The simple act of sharing soup and beans grew into a beacon of hope and meaningful relationships for the community.

Among the devoted children who served are Jonas* and Matteo*, two children from challenging backgrounds. They come from impoverished families and are often rejected by their peers. The pair discovered a newfound purpose in serving others and living out the Gospel through the soup kitchen ministry. As Jonas dreams of becoming a chef and Matteo hopes to become a hotelier, both were excited to use their passions to serve others. For them, this service transcended mere charity; it was their offering to God, their first fruits given in love.

The impact of their work was profound. Each visit to a neighbour’s home was not just a delivery of food, but an opportunity to share kindness and listen—just as Jesus would have. Together, they brought a message of hope, fostering connections that nourished both soul and body.

Thank you for empowering children to serve others and live out the Gospel!
